Financial Benefits of Solar

Market Driven Environmental Stewardship

Solar electric systems (photovoltaics or PV) are a renewable energy solution that enables the owner to generate electricity from the sun. This sustainable fuel source has many benefits, but the one leading the way in our approach is based on market driven financial performance. We are taking a unique approach to offer simple and effective finance programs to clients empowering them to obtain solar with no upfront costs and be dollars ahead from day one in most cases. Given the dynamic nature of incentive programs our team is dedicated to fully understanding all aspects of these programs from the federal level to the individual utility stage ensuring we can maximize the funding for your system while meeting your goals. This approach has lead to us identifying incentive sources that cover from 50% to 90% of the system price. In most cases we can finance the remaining balance to make solar a reality for your facility. We specialize in presenting solutions that manage the confusing paperwork associated with your solar project and provide you with a turnkey product that is easy to understand. The time has come to stop paying the utility a perpetual escalating rate for your electricity and start to levelize your rate with solar electricity.

Double Meter Pedestal

What is Net Metering?

Net metering is a policy that allows grid tied homeowners to receive the full retail value for any excess solar generated electricity that is sent out to the grid. The term “net metering” refers to the method of accounting for a facility’s overall electrical production compared to its consumption. Facility owners with solar electric systems can actually receive payments in the form of checks from their utility company for any electricity generated in excess of consumption instead of the customary bill. As the facility (either business or home, school, church) produces electricity, these kilowatt hours (kWh) are first used onsite to offset the current loads (e.g., appliances, lights). If more kWh are produced then what the facility needs, the extra kilowatt hours are fed out into the utility grid thus helping others to be “green” and generating a credit for the facility with the PV system.

Net metering enables grid tied owners to receive the full retail value for their sustainably generated electricity without having to install an extensive battery storage system. Essentially, the power grid acts as the customer’s battery storage so all production value is realized, which saves the customer the added expense of batteries and their intensive maintenance.
